Orford is an achingly beautiful place with so much to offer visitors.
The village and area surrounding is rich with incredible history, stories, myths and legends.
What better way is there to explore the land other than walking through the authentic landscape? At Tourford we offer a range of tours that accommodate those who want to walk or run!
From the quirky river Quay to Boffin island, and Orford’s landmark medieval castle, our tours will reveal the myths, legends and events that shaped not only this little quintessential village, but the rest of the country too – and continue to shape our world today.

When
Every Saturday and Sunday – meet 9.50 (on the green opposite Orford Castle ) start 10.00am. Other times available to book online.
Cost
£11.00 for adult online pre-order.
£13.00 on the day payment (where space is available).
£7.50 for under 16’s.
Free for children under 7 and well-behaved on-a-lead dogs.
- Maximum 10 people per tour.
- First booked first served policy.
- Reasonable mobility required (alternative bespoke reduced walking tour bookings possible for 4+ persons).

The tour of Orford includes...
Tour & Talk around Orford’s southern surroundings explaining all the major landmarks and historical sites.
Lead by a local guide with insights to the history of Orford with questions happily answered throughout.
Quick and exciting tour aimed to be no longer than 1.15 minutes, meaning deep dive into Orford’s history – and still then time to enjoy all the village has to offer.
We encourage families to bring their kids too – we aim to include engaging-to-all-ages stories.
The tour is about 3.5 km with some rough terrain, but it is a very do-able walk, with plenty of stops. Most people who are reasonably fit can complete it comfortably.
About us
Your guide for the Tour is Finn Pearce who lives in Orford, and whose great grandparents, grandparents and parents have all made homes in Orford.
Finn is an accomplished guide having previously been a Tour guide in Brisbane, Australia (yes, slightly different history than Orford before you ask…!)
Tourford is set up as another way to help visitors really learn about Orford’s rich, incredible history.
